Bradley I. Meier graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. That year, he also became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. (UVE: NYSE). Mr. Meier served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. from November 1990 to February 22, 2013. He served as the Chairman of the Board at Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. until February 22, 2013 and as a Director from November 1990 to February 22, 2013. Mr. Meier served as the President of Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. from April 1997 to February 22, 2013. Over the past two decades, Brad led Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company to become one of the three leading writers of homeowners’ insurance policies in Florida.
Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
Evan M. Glassman has served as President and CEO of New Paradigm since inception in February of 2013. New Paradigm is a parametric insurance specialist underwriter and program manager utilizing proprietary technology as a method to provide risk transfer for exposures to natural catastrophe losses that are difficult to impossible to obtain through traditional methods. Evan has been an entrepreneur in the insurance industry for approaching 15 years and has previously been the top producing agent at one of Florida’s ten largest privately held insurance agencies (top 50 nationally as ranked by the Insurance Journal in 2012) specializing in designing insurance solutions for many of South Florida’s largest multi-family properties. Evan is regularly asked for comment by the news media, and to speak on panels and in front of groups pertaining to developments in the insurance marketplace. Evan studied Finance at Tulane University and The Ohio State University, and was honored in 2010 by the South Florida Business Journal as Forty under 40 (Honoring the Region's best and brightest professionals under forty years old).
Head of Underwriting & Risk
Gloria Hendrickson is the Head of Underwriting & Risk for New Paradigm Underwriters. She brings 28+ years of insurance, reinsurance, catastrophe risk and modeling, and data analytics to the organization. Gloria spent the first 20 years of her career at Munich Re in various capacities with the last 10 years being dedicated to catastrophe modeling and accumulation. During this tenure, she supported the insurance, reinsurance, and specialty markets divisions with pricing, accumulation, and policy holder data audits. Prior to joining NPU Gloria also served as SVP of Risk for American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, a Florida homeowners insurance provider. She managed the risk and accumulation for a $250+ million personal lines book of business including reinsurance purchasing and was instrumental in implementing the first cat bonds in the organization’s reinsurance structure. Through Gloria’s well-rounded background she has extensive experience to be inspired by when structuring customized solutions for NPU’s clients.
Executive Vice President
Evan D. Bull is an Executive Vice President with New Paradigm Underwriters in New York where he is focused on business development, market relationships, compliance and regulatory oversight. Before joining New Paradigm, Evan was a Managing Director with Beecher Carlson in New York City where he focused on new business opportunities for Property, Executive Liability, Workers Compensation and Captive Management insurance by leveraging relationships with Fortune Companies. Bull has a wealth of technical, sales, and leadership experience in the insurance industry with a specialty in hospitality and real estate based on his 25-plus year career at Marsh, where he served as a Managing Director in the U.S. Property Practice. During this tenure which included many leadership roles, he provided oversight to teams of property brokers as well as individual account responsibilities including program design, marketing, and servicing of new and existing global and domestic property programs. He also led clients through national catastrophic claims caused by Hurricane Irene, Matthew, Katrina and Superstorm Sandy. Bull began his career in global risk management at Marsh, while attending The College of Insurance in New York City. Bull’s considerable tenure at Marsh enabled him to be directly involved in large middle market accounts and many of the country's largest global risk management clients, while working out of their Detroit, Chicago, and New York City offices.
Head of Latin America & the Caribbean
Alejandro Solorzano has 18 years of international experience including Head of Sales & Analytics for Marsh Latin America and Caribbean. In prior roles Alejandro has been leading sales, distribution and innovation across different segments in the insurance industry. He has served as producer and Senior Relationship Officer for several regional and local Fortune 500 client as well prestigious brands in the energy and hospitality industries across Latin America, the Caribbean and South Florida. Alejandro started his career as producer and founded and agency that rapidly became one of the top producing agencies in Mexico. Mr Solorzano graduated with a Bachelor un Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana holds a Mater of Business Administration from RMIT University, Australia.
Actuarial & Risk Analyst
Crystal Maragh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Florida State University. Prior to joining New Paradigm, Crystal has worked with a variety of Florida domestic insurers as an experienced actuarial analyst skilled in advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data mining. During her career, she has assisted in the development and implementation of policy management systems, agency reporting, and business platforms. In her current role, she continues to build on her experience through product research and development. Additionally, she is a pivotal component on both the technology and platform side.
